Wedding Day Health and Wellness

Wedding Day Health and Wellness article image

In the lead up to and even on the day of your wedding, things can get a little stressful. There’s a whole lot of planning to do, a million and one things to think about, and no doubt you’re trying to stay in shape to look your best, too! You’re planning the event of your lifetime, so it’s totally okay to feel a little overwhelmed.

But what isn’t okay is letting your health and wellness fall behind on your long list of priorities. Nothing is more important than taking care of yourself, not even picking out a venue or writing your vows. So, to make sure you’re taking care of number one even when you are super busy, we’ve put together some easy tips and tricks to help you with wedding day health and wellness.

Running Up To Your Wedding

When we say ‘running up to your wedding’, we really do mean running – well, any exercise really! Having a lot on your plate can often mean your fitness falls behind, so it’s important that no matter how busy your week is, you make time to exercise. It’s great for both your mental and physical wellbeing, so be sure to stick to your workout routines and don’t let your wedding get ahead of your health.

On the other hand, too much exercise can also be a problem for some, with the need to look their best and fit into a tiny wedding dress causing too much stress and pressure. If you’re pushing your body too hard, no good can come of it- there are dangers to overtraining. Instead, stick to a normal exercise routine that isn’t stretching your body beyond its limits, and remember that you’ll feel fabulous on your wedding day as long as you’re healthy and happy.

Stress-Relieving Tips

If your never-ending to-do list is causing you to really feel stressed, remember to have some handy techniques that work for you on standby. Things such as meditation, taking a bath, chatting with friends, or taking an hour out to curl up on the sofa and read a good book are all great stress-releases! There are a series of simple ways to relieve stress available to you. They’ll help you take your mind off the panic, and afterwards, you’ll realise things really aren’t as bad as you thought.

By being aware of when your stress levels are getting too high and when you need to take some time out, you’ll become more attuned to your wellbeing, which is a great skill to have.

You CAN Ask For Help!

We see a lot of bride-to-be's thinking they have to do every little thing themselves when it comes to planning their wedding, but this definitely isn’t - and shouldn’t be – the case. You can share the workload, asking for advice from your partner, friends, and family whenever you need it. This is an exciting time for them too, so they’ll love to be involved! By spreading the workload, you’ll do wonders for your health and well-being.

It’s All About Being in the Moment

Both in the lead up to and on your wedding day, remember to be in the moment. Thinking too far ahead or worrying over every little thing can cause so much stress and anxiety that it’ll ruin your wellbeing and make what’s meant to be a wonderful time, well... kind of miserable! Enjoy every moment as it happens, from the fun of cake tasting to the magic of finding your dream venue, and on your wedding day don’t get caught up in the formalities of it all. If you don’t get to spend 10 minutes talking to every guest, who cares! You have the rest of your life for that, but only one day to remember your wedding.
